Lately, it feels like we’re watching HVAC part prices climb faster than a summer thermostat in a broken apartment. One day you’re ordering a blower motor for $220, the next day it’s $440—and that’s if it’s even in stock. What’s going on?
Here’s the hard truth:
New tariffs and trade policy shifts are hammering the HVAC industry. Imported components—from compressors and coils to simple capacitors—are facing steep import duties. Many of these parts are sourced globally, and when tariffs rise, so do costs. Unfortunately, it’s not a small bump—it’s more like sticker shock on steroids.
How Bad Is It?
Some of our go-to parts have literally doubled in price overnight. That’s not an exaggeration. A fan motor that cost $350 last month now rings up over $700. Evaporator coils? You’d think they were plated in gold. And this isn’t just “supply chain” drama anymore—this is the new normal.
The Honest Struggle
We get it. No one likes surprises—especially when it comes to repair bills. As a business owner and technician, I hate having to tell a customer that a repair is going to cost twice what it did last year. These aren’t upcharges or padded estimates—these are real increases from the suppliers and manufacturers we’ve relied on for years.
And here’s the catch: We don’t want to take shortcuts. We don’t use cheap parts or cut corners. Your safety and system performance come first. But that means facing the hard reality of pricing that’s changing by the minute.
BUT The Show Must Go On
Service First USA was built on one promise: Do the job right, no matter what.
That hasn’t changed—and it won’t.
We’re adapting in real time, working with our vendors, bulk-ordering where we can, and staying transparent with our customers. We’re also taking serious steps to bring prices back under control.
To fight back against rising international costs, we’re now sourcing from U.S. manufacturers wherever possible. That’s right—we’ve started working with American-based brands like Filter King, and we’re proud to say that our air filters will now be manufactured right here in the USA. It’s a win-win: better control of inventory, shorter lead times, and lower costs that we can pass on to you.
None of us signed up to be price chasers, but we did sign up to keep our customers cool, comfortable, and informed. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
Final Thoughts (Before We Overheat)
If you’ve noticed HVAC prices climbing, you’re not imagining things. It’s real. But at Service First USA, we’re in the trenches with you. We’ll keep doing everything we can to provide affordable, high-quality service—even if it means biting our nails before clicking “place order” on a new part.
Thank you for trusting us. We’ll get through this—one fan blade at a time.
